Floor Restorations

Here at Kent Wood Flooring, we pride ourselves on our restoration projects.

Old wooden floors can be beautiful, no matter how old or battered they may look.

Restoration Flooring in Kent

“Calum and his team were very professional and renovated our worn and scratched engineered oak floor back to new. We’re delighted with the results.

I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending their services.”

Where required, we can source reclaimed blocks of the same wood species as your own and carefully fit these in with your current floors.

Piecing in reclaimed blocks to your current floor is a bit like putting together a child’s puzzle that has been made and taken apart many times, the pieces fit but they don’t always align together perfectly.

A restored floor will never give you a complete crisp edge or seamless finish like a newly fitted floor, which is a natural product, but we find it just adds to its beauty. Once these blocks are fitted, they and the rest of the floor will be sanded back to give a more uniform finish.

However, due to the age of the blocks and their “reclaimed” status, we can never be 100% certain what the finish will look like, making it more exciting to see the finished product.

A reclaimed, restored floor will often give you a vast variety of colours in the finish and a far less uniform look than a new floor.

We have completed hundreds of wood floor sanding projects over the years and consider ourselves specialists in sanding and restoration.

Staining

Stains are used to enhance and breed life into the wood within your floor. Stains work with the grains within the wood to ensure your floor is aesthetically thriving.
